The Company
Norðurmjólk is a dairy company located in northern Iceland. Norðurmjólk collects milk from farmers in the area of Eyjafjörður and Þingeyjarsýrslur in north Iceland. The company’s share of the cow milk produced in Iceland is about 25%. The company was originally founded in 1927 as the first dairy company in Iceland under the name Mjólkursamlag KEA. The company produces wide range of dairy products, which is being sold all over the country.

The Products
The company produces liquid milk, yoghurt, skyr, butter and cheese where cheese production is the main line of business. The product skyr (KEA-skyr) is a special Icelandic product made of skim milk. This product is a special health product containing valuable proteins and very low in fat content. This is one of the company’s most valuable products. As a supplement to ordinary dairy products the company produces selected range of functional products both as cultured milk products and cheese. The company also produces fruit juices and margarine products.

Quality assurance
The company operates a HACCP quality assurance programme and is ISO 9001 certified.
