The shrimp machine service Matrak ehf is a company that specialises in the service for shrimp producers by producing various machines and equipment for the shrimp industry, both standard products and specially designed to suit the needs of the customer.

The company was founded by Ómar Ásgeirsson in the year 1995, but he has been servicing and building shrimp peeling machines from the year 1986 and other machines and equipment for the shrimp industry.

Today Martak is producing nearly all machines and equipment needed in the traditional shrimp industry except freezers.

Martak offers layout designs for modern shrimp factories as well, where the main emphasis is laid on efficiency, performance and utilisation for the shrimp producer. Martak has designed and constructed some of the largest shrimp-factories in Iceland and this is a growing element in activities of the company.

Martak in first hand produces shrimp machines and spare parts for all types of shrimp peeling machines that are used in the shrimp industry (American, Icelandic, Norwegian). We always endeavor to have on stock all spare parts for shrimp peeling machines, including rollers. Martak has chosen only to use highest quality material for the rubber-rollers that return maximum efficiency, utilization and durability.

Most of our customers chose to have a service contract for their shrimp peeling machines, but they include renewing conveyors and other parts at regular intervals. This insures that the machines are always working on top efficiency and performance.

In this way Martak is servicing most Icelandic shrimp factories besides having a sizeable interest in Newfoundland and Canada.
