About Lækjarbrekka Lækjarbrekka is a classic Icelandic restaurant situated in the heart of Reykjavík in one of the oldest buildings in the city. The building has a remarkable eventful 150-year history behind it and there has been a restaurant here for twenty years. We specialise in Icelandic cuisine and strive to create the most delicious meals from the best possible ingredients and to provide first-rate service. We try to ensure that all our guests leave the restaurant thoroughly satisfied. The menu The menu is diverse from lunchtime to evening, seven days a week. At lunchtime we specialise in light, fresh dishes, such as soup or salad as well as fresh fish and chicken dishes. In the afternoon the restaurant takes on a café atmosphere and a range of small dishes, sandwiches, coffee, cakes, Icelandic pancakes and more Icelandic specialities are available. In the evening variety is the name of the game. We have everything from appetisers and vegetable dishes to sumptuous meat and fish dishes and there is something for all tastes. The menu consists among else of Icelandic lobster, fresh fish of the day, Icelandic mountain lamb, puffin party and more. For dessert Icelandic specialities such as “skyr” with cream is always popular. You can take a look at the full menu.  The restaurant has two floors. There is a Dining hall on lower floor. Also there is the socalled “President's Room” on lower floor that seats up to eleven people in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. It is popular for lunchtime meetings, dinner meetings, birthday parties and other occasions. |
 On the upper floor there is a dining room and a bar and cognac room. It is an ideal place to enjoy an aperitif. It is also popular with groups looking for an evening of fun. After enjoying a delicious meal there is nothing better than sitting down in the relaxing surroundings of the Cognac Room and treating yourself to a coffee and a liqueur or cognac and letting yourself be pampered by our waiters.  We also hire out 2 banquet halls with rooms for up to 100 people, suitable for every occasion.The restaurant is open 7 days a week from 11:00 - 24:00. Our main aim is a satisfied customer. |
