Horses of the North is a six volume series about the Icelandic horse and it's breeders in Iceland. Each of the first five volumes covers a specified part of the country and focuses on the importance of each area and the best known breeders and horse farms. These are refernce books and consist of detailed lists of people and horses, with over 200 photographs each. They answer questions about horses from each county of Iceland and give a great insight into the world of the breeder. The sixth volum focuses on the evergrowin tourism industry around the horse in Iceland. These books have all been published simultaneously in Icelandic, English, German and Swedish. Horses of the North VI
Riding Tours in Iceland. This volume covers riding tours, horse-rental services and other tourist enterprises providing facilities for the horseman. Entries in the book span the whole of Iceland in two stretches. Nearly 70 horse rentals are covered. Where accomodation facilities are available, these are described in some detail. Price USD 10
Riders of the North
This is the story of Icelandic riders from the time of the settlement in the 9th century to our days. Contains interviews with 22 riders, horse breeders and dealers, who in one way or the other have distingushed themselves in their respective fields over the last three decades. Price USD 20
