Horses of the North is a six volume series about the Icelandic horse and it's breeders in Iceland. Each of the first five volumes covers a specified part of the country and focuses on the importance of each area and the best known breeders and horse farms. These are refernce books and consist of detailed lists of people and horses, with over 200 photographs each. They answer questions about horses from each county of Iceland and give a great insight into the world of the breeder. The sixth volum focuses on the evergrowin tourism industry around the horse in Iceland. These books have all been published simultaneously in Icelandic, English, German and Swedish. Breeders and stud farms in Skagafjordur and Hunathing in North-West Iceland. Introduces some of the best known names in horse breeding in Iceland such as Sveinn Gudmundsson from Saudarkrokur.
