The vikings can come to you!
We are able to come to you with our Viking restaurant and our Viking atmosphere
anywhere in the world. We have 24 tents seating over 200 guests. Our menu
consists of Icelandic mountain lamb slowly roasted over a fire. Icelandic
salmon, beer and Brennivín (Icelandic schnapps) and we also sell Viking handicraft.
Our vikings staff sings while serving you and your customers and our Viking
band plays lively traditional Icelandic viking music.
Viking Feasts and Festivals
Viking Feasts and Festivals have become our trademark. The feasts include
a number of surprises, the guests, who are dressed in Viking capes, are “kidnapped”
by the Vikings, buses are “hijacked” and everyone is treated to delicious
Viking schnapss. We are famous for coming up with creative and unusual ideas
to accommodate different groups and needs. Waiters and waitresses dressed
in authentic Viking clothing, serve meals with flair. Fun and good times are
our motto, all in the Viking style.
Restaurant Fjorugardurinn
Here you can step into the world of the past, the World of the Vikings. The
décor is in the Viking style and we offer true Viking feast with traditional
meals served in old-fashioned Viking-style trays. The guests can expect various
treats and surprises offered by our singing Valkyries and Vikings. The fun
reaches its height when the Fjöru-chieftain crowns one guest as an Honorary
Viking.
We recommend our three-course Viking dinner which includes a selection of
horse d’oeuvre, delicious mountain lamb and skyr – a yoghurt-like dessert
with fruit. With this comes perfectly chilled Vikings schnapps, especially
produced for Fjörukráin, served in traditional lamb horns.
Fjörugarðurinn easily sits 350 guests and is open all days and on Fridays
and Saturdays from 12:00 - 03:00.
West Nordic Culture House
The West Nordic Culture House is in an old forge, which has recently been
renovated. It has a museum store and it serves the purpose of enhancing the
cultural co-operation between the West Nordic countries, the Faroe Islands,
Greenland and Iceland. It also places an emphasis on introducing the cultural
inheritance of the countries.
The culture house offers various operations, i.e. the exhibition and selling
of various kinds of handicraft and stalls introducing each country and its
people.
Restaurant Fjaran
At The West Nordern Culture House there is a cosy restaurant Fjaran. Fjaran
provides an elegant dining experience (a la carte) and can seat up to 58 guests.
It is open every day from 12:00 - 01:00 and over the lunchtime on Thursdays,
Fridays and Saturdays.
The house is ideally situated, offering picturesque view of the harbour. Built
in 1841, recently renovated and restored to its original style, it provides
a cosy, romantic atmosphere. We emphasize fish and game, but in Fjaran we
offer a wide selection of gourmet dishes.
