The Ski & Trekking Specialist in Iceland The name of our company means “The trail behind the mountains” It’s the name of a famous trail which snake it’s way through the wild and dramatic landscape of the interior highlands of Iceland, the world’s largest volcanic island. As we have been in the field for 25 years we know what outdoor experience in Iceland means. We specialize in high quality trekking, skiing and nature tours for small groups. We also organize on demand journeys in 4wd vehicles for individuals with high quality services all year round. Alpine ski touring & Nordic ski trek As the permanent light of spring dominates the Arctic Ocean we ski down the mountains of the Troll peninsula navigating through the deep fjords of northern Iceland. Earlier in the season we organize Nordic ski treks in the wild interior highlands in the real spirit of arctic adventure.  Discovery Through the interior and along the coast, we also organize comfortable tours in 4wd vehicles or small buses. We drive reasonable distances as we take time to observe nature and walk a few hours each day. Our tours are mostly seven days and can be linked together or to a trek. Each tour discovers a specific part of the country as for example our West Coast Discovery, or our South Coast & Highlands Discovery. Some departures are more specific, offering different themes such as geology, bird or whale watching. 4wd adventure with a driver-guide You can travel with us all year round “A la carte” as we have a fleet of 4wd vehicles operated by highly experienced English speaking drivers. Some vehicles, the so-called super jeeps are specially transformed and equipped to drive off-road on the snow in winter. A journey with a 4wd vehicle can be arranged with full board and a choice of accommodation. |
 Trekking Our summer treks are usually one week or two, with regular departures from the end of June until the end of September. Some are hut to hut, others in tents. The members only carry daypacks since a 4wd vehicle or packsaddle horses transport all luggage and equipment. Exploration For wild-nature seeking people who look for a real taste of adventure, each year we propose two or three exclusive experimental backpacking treks with only one departure each. The purpose of a rough hike like this, led only by our best trekking guides, is for us to explore new itineraries and for you to live an exceptional adventure!
